Stash Busting Challenge – Week 1!

Stash Busting Challenge – Week 1!
Spread the love

The Stash Busting Challenge is back for 2021! Unfortunately, the free pdf patterns for those listed below has now expired. But the patterns are so cute and great stash busters that I wanted to leave them here as a round up post for you. A lot of these patterns are also free on the designer’s blog posts, so you can still get them as free patterns!

The Patterns

1. Crochet glasses cases by Joy of Motion

This glasses pouch is a great stash busting idea, and it can also make a great gift. Jazz it up with appliqués, gorgeous buttons or scrap pieces of yarn. Click the pic below to be taken to Janne’s post with the PDF Pattern links.

2. Foldover phone case by Sunflower Cottage Crochet

This one is one of our older patterns and was designed as part of our stitch of the week feature. If you have never worked the paired half double crochet stitch before this one is a great project to try it out on … and we have a video tutorial to help you with the stitch too.

On our post there is also a different version of the phone case (the pink one), unfortunately that one is not on the same download, but the pattern is free in the blog post!

3. Iris Stitch in a Square Hot Pad by Made by Gootie

Agat loves her iris stitch! Have you tried it. It is a cute lacy stitch (we have a little headband pattern in this stitch).

There are so many uses for this square – use it to create or incorporate into a blanket, a table runner, increase the size so it is a placemat, use small thread and hook for a coaster or doily … the list is endless.

4. Crochet Sunflower Applique by Raffamusa Designs

Rafaella has some of the most gorgeous appliqués (and other designs)! Check out her Sunflower appliqué. Of course we love it!

5. Sunshine Coaster pattern by Crafting Each Day

Suzanne’s coaster pattern is just the ticket for a great summer make and is a fantastic stash buster. Make them for yourself or make them as a gift …. or both!

6. Lotte Lace Corner Bookmark by Blue Star Crochet

If you are a member of our Facebook group you will have seen this one before! I just adore the elegance of this bookmark!

7. Super Simple Crochet Coaster by Sigoni Macaroni

These coasters would make a perfect addition to any garden table or picnic table! Where would you use yours?

8. Chevron Stripes Pouch by Loops and Love Crochet

I just love everything about this pouch – the fantastic effect of the chevrons and the colours that have been used! What colours will you make yours in?

9. Face Scrubbies by Desert Blossom Crafts

Can you ever have too many face scrubbies? Personally,. I don’t think so. Team them up with some lovely soaps or lotions and they finish off a gift perfectly.

10. Easy Boho Evening Purse by King and Eye

I love this purse! Although I have to admit I am not a huge fan of tassels from a practical point of view, but they do look great and finish off this bag perfectly! This one is a quick make with t-shirt yarn and a 12mm hook!

11. Heart Jar Cozy by Hooked on Patterns

This one is such a sweet pattern, and would look perfect with a candle in it either inside or outside!

12. Palm Tree Key Chain by Through the Loop Yarn Craft

This pattern just screams summer! It would also make a great key chain for a school bag.

13. Leopard Clutch by E’Claire Makery

This is a great colour work project, especially if you are new to colour work. Why? because if you don’t quite manage to get the spots right who will know? It will still look fabulous. And by the time you have finished this one you will feel so much more confident!

14. Super Scrappy Scarf by Carroway Crochet

I love Pam’s scrappy patterns! She has everything from cardigans to sweaters and scarves! And her photos always make me smile. What do you think of this scarf?

15. Linen Pot holder by Knitting with Chopsticks

This linen pot holder uses t-shirt yarn and a 4mm hook! It looks stunning in the two colours – I love the effect it creates! I’m thinking I may make mine in yellow with green accents! what about you?

Thats 15 fabulous designers providing you with 15  patterns! It will go a long way to busting some of that stash!
