This stunning poncho is deceptively easy to make. Get the look of cables without worrying about all of the front and back post stitches! The texture shows well even with darker colours.
Perfect for the school run or throwing on to do an errand or too. Also a gorgeous alternative to a chunky cardigan while pottering around the house.
Make it with aran or #4 worsted weight yarn for a warmer poncho for the autumn or winter or use a #3 weight or DK for the late spring / summer! It works with both!
At Sunflower Cottage Crochet, we hire experienced crochet artisans to test our patterns for accuracy and readability. Our crochet pattern will teach you how to create the pefect gift for any occasion. Make it to give or make it for yourself … go on, you deserve it!
Our patterns all share the same layout which is easy to read and easy to find important information you need, such as materials needed, sizing information, gauge information, and special stitches used as well as how to do them. Figure photos are provided in this pattern to aid with assembly of the panels.
Your finished panels should measure approximately:
16’’x26’’ for the small / Medium, 18’’x30’’ for the large / XL, and 20’’. 36’’ for the 2XL/3XL. This is forgiving so an inch or two smaller is fine – you can make the edging a little wider by adding more fhdc stitches to start.
To amend the panel size stitch multiples are included.
The pattern is written for sizes small /medium, large / XL, XXL/XXXL yet also includes the foundation multiple needed to create a custom fit!
Use any #4 weight yarn for a warm and cosy poncho, or any #3 weight yarn for a more lacy look for the summer.
Use a 6mm hook (regardless of yarn used).
