Spread the love

The Mermaid Dreams Cowl is a free pattern below. It’s a little different to our usual patterns but I love the texture on this one. I also love how playing with colour can change the look of this one and really make the stitch pattern pop!

This one has been designed in several sizes – age 2-3, 4-12, teen and adult! And it is perfect for using some some scraps or part used skeins.

Operation Christmas Child

I designed the Mermaid Dreams Cowl specifically for Operation Christmas Child. This is a well known appeal each year. Here in the UK we call it the shoebox appeal. Rachel over at Desert Blossom Crafts wanted to set up a crocheted version for children. She asked several designers if they would like to contribute. How could I say no?? I was assigned a girl’s cowl.

Isn’t this stitch perfect for a girl’s cowl? Every little girl I know either really loves unicorns or mermaids. So there was no doubt in my mind that this was the stitch pattern I was going to use.
