Description
You will be surprised how easy it is to achieve this gorgeous cable look without actually crocheting any cables! A confident beginner can make this scarf.
I find this gorgeous scarf is perfect for those winter months to help me stay warm whilst I am out and about walking the dog, shopping, taking the kids to school or just enjoying the crisp air!
In fact I took these photos of my sister wearing this while we were out one cold November day walking the dogs.
The matching Marly hat is also available.
The Marly Scarf is worked in long rows to achieve the texture needed. The benefits of this are that there are fewer rows to crochet! Once you have worked the first section it is a perfect project to crochet while you watch a movie on an evening.
Links to video tutorials for the special stitches are included in the pdf pattern, along with the stitch multiple if you would like to amend the length.
Skills required:
- option to work foundation HDC or CH starts
- Single Crochet
- Double Crochet
- Half Double Crochet
- Back post single crochet (video link included!)
You will find that this pattern is really very easy to customise. You could make it as written or;
- add another section to the top to create 2 cabled bands
- use team colours
- make the whole scarf with the cabled section repeated and create the woven sections in birthstone colours.
The world is your oyster with this pattern. I am going to be making a birthstone version of this for my mum to represent her children.
The 64’’ version is available free on the website here.
