Discover the perfect go-to crochet tank top for any occasion
Ready to beat the summer heat in style? A crochet tank top is a great lightweight option that’s not only fashionable but also surprisingly comfortable. Whether you’re spending your days lounging by the pool, hosting a backyard barbecue, or heading off to an outdoor music festival with friends –– there’s no doubt a crochet tank top fits the occasion!
You could also dress this one up with a nice skirt or pair of trousers. It would make a great top for a christening or wedding guest this summer.
The Daisy Tank Top crochet pattern is written in 9 sizes – adult XS all the way up to adult 5XL. It is designed to be fitted around the bust but more relaxed around your tummy. And you can make it as long as you would like to.

Inspiration behind the design
The Daisy Tank Top was designed specifically for the first edition of the Crochet Capsule. It is a digital magazine brought to you by myself, Two Brothers Blankets, High Desert Yarn and Ambassador Crochet.
When we were discussing this project the Daisy Tank Top immediately came to me. The thought stayed and niggled away for a week or two. Eventually, I conceded that this is the pattern that I was going to submit.
So I am not entirely sure where the inspiration came from. Maybe at the time I was desperately wishing for some hot weather! It was a cold January here.
I named this one after one of my nieces, Daisy-Olivia – and it was about time. Her sister, Ava, has had some of my designs named after her for a while.
Construction of the design
This tank top is designed in the round. You start at the bust section and work your way down, then add the straps at the end. So there are no seams down the sides of this one!
Handy Hint for this design – be sure to keep an eye out or the hook size change. This design uses the sprig stitch. When you work it with just about any other stitch it will cinch in unless you change hook size. This was a lesson that I learned the hard way!
The Yarn
Michelle pitched the idea of the Crochet Capsule to the lovely people over at WeCrochet and Knit Picks. Almost immediately we had an offer of yarn sponsorship for this project.
The Daisy Tank Top is made using Heatherly Sport Weight yarn, in colour juice box. This yarn comes in 100g skeins and each skein has 328 yards of yarn. It is 80% acrylic and 20% merino wool so is soft and squidgy …. and warm!
At the time of writing this post it was priced at $5.75 per skein. I think this is a really great price for what you get!

Because of the wool content, it is a hand wash, dry flat yarn.
It was my first time using this yarn, and it is beautiful to work with. It slides along the hook and has some great stitch definition and drape. If you haven’t used it yet I would suggest you try it.
