Bat and Moon Placemat – Free Pattern
The bat and moon placemat is the last in the current collection of Halloween Crochet Placemats. I am thrilled at how many of you liked these patterns! They were fun to design and fun to make.
These tapestry crochet Halloween placemats will brighten up any table and make any mealtime fun. When the kids come to my house for meals, they beg for these mats! (I actually designed and made them all last summer, but with everything going on last year, we missed the boat with these.)
I guess I will have to start thinking about another Halloween collection for next year!

Pattern information:
To work out how much yarn you will need, you will need to do a sample swatch and then measure how much yarn you used per stitch, multiplying that by the number of stitches of that color and adding some for the tails to be worked in at the end.
The stitch counts are as follows:

Materials:
- #4 weight (aran) cotton is perfect for a placemat
- 5mm hook
- Stitch markers to mark first and last stitches (optional)
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
Size:
Finished size is approx. 17.5’’ wide by 11’’ high
Gauge:
Using sc as your gauge stitch, 2’’x 2’’ is 8 stitches x 10 rows
Abbreviations:
- Ch(s) – chain(s)
- St(s) – stitch(es)
- Sc – single crochet
- >> or << – indicates which way the row is worked – right to left or left to right
