Treat yourself with the Susan Set!
Spread the love

The Susan Set was designed for you to make for yourself. Of course, you can make it to gift or donate, but I think as crocheters we should make more for ourselves!

Most of the crocheters I know make things and gift them. Or they start making something for themselves and it is ‘claimed’ by a friend or relative. If we are lucky we get to keep the odd cowl or hat we make; we made it while no-one was looking and we REALLY needed one!

My confession…

A few weeks before Christmas my youngest sister, Susan, asked me to make her some more face scrubbies for Christmas. If that was all she had asked for I was going to design some especially for her. So you see, this set came about because I was making it for someone else! But then I made a set for me too.

The scrubbies took me what felt like only a few minutes to design and I found them fun to make. Before I knew it I had made about 20 of them with my cotton yarn scraps. Then I had a message asking me to make some for Susan’s friend, Emily. I showed them to my sister in law a day or two later and she wanted some. And viola! Suddenly I had 3 gifts ticked off my to make list.

With the popularity of this design I had to write it down so that I could share it with you all. My fabulous friend, Anita, tested the patterns for me.

The complete set

Initially I was going to turn this into a spa set, but I already have the Farmhouse Spa Set (which is free on the blog post). I looked at what the Farmhouse Spa set didn’t have and had an urge to make a hand towel and matching washcloth. (I did not have time to add an eye mask, so that will be added later. If you purchase via Ravelry you will automatically get the updated pattern once it has been added!) The idea being that you could take these items easily in a bag to your local Spa when you treat yourself, or use them to pamper yourself at home!

Make these your special set – only used by you for a little bit of self-pampering and make yourself feel special. You absolutely deserve it.
