The Ornamental Garden Square – Free Crochet Pattern

The Ornamental Garden Square – Free Crochet Pattern
Spread the love

The ornamental Garden Square is the 6th square to be released in the Bouquet of Flowers CAL. I designed it specifically for the event and love how it turned out.

It has a slightly vintage feel to it I think, especially in the second version I made. As soon as I finished the first version I knew immediately that I was going to call it the Ornamental Garden Square. It reminded me a little of some of the gardens that they design at the Chelsea Flower Show (that’s a big deal here in the UK). Only instead of a fountain or a seating area in the centre, I have a flower in full bloom.

What do you think? Does it suit the name?

I have the pattern free here – just keep scrolling. There are also links to both the right and left handed video tutorials for the Ornamental Garden Square. Word of warning: although I go through some of the intermediate sections more slowly, I do assume that you already know the basic stitches!

PDF Pattern Links

You can get the stand alone ad-free pdf pattern for this square in all of the usual places:

There is also the option to purchase the whole bundle for this CAL, including the joining and border instructions. This will always be available, but the price will increase after the CAL. If you would like to check it out click the button below:

Video tutorials

As I mentioned above, there is a full video tutorial for both left and right handed crocheters (just below). I do assume that you are comfortable with the basic stitches (SC, HDC, DC, CH) and so do not slow down my crocheting for these stitches. I do slow down to show you where to place stitches and show you how to work the special stitches.
