The Hannah Square – Part of a Crochet Poncho CAL!
The Hannah Square was written especially for a CAL that Raelynn from Itchin’ for Some Stitchin’ asked me to join. She had this fabulous idea to have designers provide a 7″ AND 8″ square pattern of a favourite solid stitch which can then be put together to create a gorgeous, unique poncho.
Of course, I wasn’t going to say no to that concept!
So out came my thinking cap for a suitable stitch. And I decided on the N stitch.
** This is a free pattern on the blog. Please do not copy and paste any part of it or print this pattern out. Please bookmark this page and use the website to work up your pattern. Why the N Stitch?
There are actually quite a few reasons for this! It is a very pretty closed stitch and works up really quickly once you get the hang of it. But there are other reasons too:
- I have a few designs that use this stitch and it is beautiful and elegant
- It is a unisex stitch so you can comfortably use it to make something for the men in your life
- It is a simple 2 row repeat
- I already had a video tutorial on my YouTube channel for it (bonus – I don’t have to do as much work as usual!) Keep scrolling for the YouTube tutorials!
Other designs that use this stitch:
Below is a few of the designs where the N stitch has been incorporated into it somewhere. Do you recognise any of them? If you want to know more about these patterns – all but 1 are free on the blog! – then click the photo below.
