You’ll find a mix of simple stitches and fun techniques in this collection, and yes—step-by-step video tutorials are included with each pattern so everyone can join in, whether you’re a confident beginner or a seasoned hooker.

🧶 What is this event?
Scrappy Holidays is a 5-day crochet along running right here on the blog. Each day, a new free crochet Christmas ornament pattern will be added to this post. Just click the photo to be taken to the blog post that has the free pattern included. All you need is your scrap yarn, a hook, and that fabulous festive spirit.
🗓️ When does it run?
The CAL runs for 5 consecutive days from 28th July – 1st August. One new ornament pattern will be released each day—just check back here, and you’ll find it ready and waiting!

I’m easing us in with the granny square tree ornament to kick us off.
The edging uses the fun twisted single crochet stitch rather than the more usual crab stitch, which can cause more pain to your wrists.
