Free Fall Coloring Pages for Yarn Lovers

There is something rather special about fall, isn’t there?

The evenings start drawing in, the air gets a little cooler, and suddenly those cozy blankets, warm drinks and comfy jumpers become much more appealing. And, of course, for us crocheters, it is the perfect excuse to get the yarn out and start making all of those lovely autumn projects!

But sometimes it is nice to put the crochet hook down for a little while and enjoy something different.

That is where these free printable fall coloring pages come in!

Following on from my Summer Yarn Colouring Pages collection, I thought it would be fun to create some autumn-inspired designs that combine my love of yarn with all of those wonderful things that make this season so special.

These free fall coloring pages are designed for adults and kids alike. Whether you are looking for a relaxing activity on a rainy afternoon, something creative to enjoy with the family, or simply a little time to yourself, I hope you will find a design that makes you smile.

And the best part? They are completely free to download and print!

Why I Created These Cozy Autumn Coloring Pages

If you have been following Sunflower Cottage Crochet for a while, you will know that I am a big believer in having something creative to do with your hands.

For me, that is usually crochet. I have been crocheting since I was 14, and it has always been something that helps me think, concentrate and work through whatever is going on in my head.

But crochet isn’t the only way to enjoy a little creative time.

When I started creating my Summer Yarn Colouring Pages, I loved the idea of having something that was still connected to our wonderful world of yarn and crochet but didn’t require counting stitches, keeping track of rows or wondering where on earth that stitch marker had disappeared to!

Colouring seemed like the perfect solution.

And with fall being such a wonderful season for cozy crafts, I couldn’t resist creating another collection.

I wanted these autumn coloring pages to capture that lovely feeling of slowing down, getting comfortable and enjoying the simple things.

Think beautiful autumn colours, cozy seasonal scenes and, naturally, a little yarn-inspired fun thrown in for good measure.

After all, it wouldn’t be Sunflower Cottage Crochet without a bit of yarn somewhere, would it?

How to Download and Print Your Free Fall Coloring Pages

I’ve tried to make these printable fall coloring pages as easy as possible to use.

You don’t need any fancy equipment, expensive supplies or special software.

Just a printer, some paper and your favourite colouring materials.

Step 1: Choose your design

Scroll through the free fall coloring pages below and pick the one you would like to colour first.

Of course, you can always download more than one!

Step 2: Download your free PDF

Step 3: Print your coloring page

The pages are designed for printing on A4 or US Letter paper.

For the best results, choose the appropriate paper size in your printer settings and select Fit to Page if necessary so that none of the design is cut off.

Step 4: Get colouring!

Grab your pencils, crayons or markers and enjoy bringing your design to life.

And that’s it!

You are ready for a little cozy autumn creativity.

Why Coloring Is Such a Lovely Activity for Adults and Kids

I think we sometimes forget that colouring isn’t just for children.

As adults, we can become so caught up in everything that needs doing that we forget how enjoyable it can be to sit down and create something simply because we want to.

No deadlines. No pressure. No worrying about whether the finished result is good enough.

Just a little creative time.

And that is one of the reasons I love these fall coloring pages for adults and kids.

A Lovely Way to Unwind

Colouring gives you something gentle to focus on, without needing to concentrate too hard.

You can pop on your favourite music, make yourself a cup of tea and spend a little time filling in a design.

There is no need to rush, and there is certainly no need to finish a page in one sitting.

Enjoy Some Screen-Free Time

We all spend an awful lot of time looking at screens these days.

These printable autumn coloring pages are a lovely excuse to step away from your phone, computer or television and do something a little different.

You could even make it a family activity and spend a cozy afternoon colouring together.

Get Creative With Colour

One of the things I enjoy about colouring is that there really are no rules.

You can choose realistic colours or let your imagination run wild.

Maybe your yarn basket is full of traditional autumn shades. Perhaps your pumpkins are purple, or your autumn leaves are every colour of the rainbow.

It is entirely up to you!

A Creative Break Between Crochet Projects

Sometimes we just need a little change.

If you have been working on a large blanket, concentrating on a complicated stitch pattern or crocheting gifts for everyone you know, colouring can offer a different way to be creative.

And who knows? You might even discover a colour combination that inspires your next crochet project!

What Are the Best Supplies for Coloring These Autumn Printables?

You really don’t need to spend a fortune to enjoy these free yarn coloring pages.

In fact, you probably already have everything you need at home.

Colouring pencils: These are my favourite suggestion for designs with smaller details. They are easy to control, great for blending colours and don’t usually bleed through ordinary printer paper.

Crayons: A brilliant option for younger children or anyone who enjoys bold, cheerful colours.

Felt-tip pens and markers: Perfect if you prefer bright, vibrant results. Just be aware that some markers can bleed through thinner paper, so it may be worth placing a spare sheet underneath your design.

Gel pens: Lovely for adding little highlights or extra details, especially if you enjoy making parts of your colouring page stand out.

If you plan to use alcohol markers or lots of ink, a heavier paper or cardstock may give you better results.

And please don’t feel that you need an enormous collection of colouring supplies to get started.

A few favourite colours and a little imagination are more than enough.

Fun Ways to Use Your Finished Fall Coloring Pages

Once you have finished colouring your favourite designs, you don’t have to simply pop them in a drawer and forget about them.

There are plenty of lovely ways to use your finished artwork.

Create Some Cozy Autumn Decorations

Why not display your finished colouring pages around your home?

Pop one in a frame, add it to a seasonal display or create a little gallery of autumn artwork.

It is a simple, inexpensive way to add a personal touch to your fall decorations.

Make Handmade Cards

You could print a design at a smaller size, colour it in and use it to decorate a handmade card.

Perfect for sending a little autumn cheer to someone who could do with a smile.

Enjoy a Family Coloring Afternoon

Print a few different designs, put out the colouring pencils and let everyone choose their favourite.

It is a lovely activity for a rainy afternoon, especially when the weather isn’t quite cooperating with your plans.

You could even make it part of a cozy afternoon with hot chocolate and homemade biscuits.

Use Them as Inspiration for Crochet Projects

This one is particularly fun for us yarn lovers!

Try choosing the colours for your colouring page as though you were planning a new crochet project.

Would those shades make a beautiful scarf? A cozy blanket? Perhaps a new hat?

Sometimes inspiration comes from the most unexpected places.

Add Them to Your Craft Journal

If you keep a crochet notebook, planner or craft journal, your finished colouring pages could make lovely decorative additions.

You could even jot down the colours you used as inspiration for future projects.
