From Us to You: 12 More Free Crochet Patterns Perfect for Charity Donations
Spread the love

One of my favourite things about the crochet community is the way we come together to support those in need. Whether it’s stitching up scarves for shelters or making hats for hospitals, crocheters have always shown up with big hearts and busy hooks. That spirit of generosity is exactly what inspired the From Us to You Free Crochet Pattern Donation Challenge.

Crochet has this quiet magic – it’s comforting, warm, and stitched with intention. And in a world that continues to face challenge after challenge, there’s never been a better time to put our skills to good use. So, I’m absolutely thrilled to once again be hosting the From Us to You event for the second half of 2025!

This is your invitation to join me and crocheters around the world as we create beautiful, handmade items to donate to those who need them most. Whether you’re a seasoned stitcher or a confident beginner, you’re welcome to take part.

Let’s make something meaningful. Let’s crochet for kindness.

A Quick Backstory…

This event started in 2024 when Sandra from Sandra Stitches and I got together to come up with a project that we could do together. Sandra and I have crossed paths in several crochet events before, but this gave us a chance to collaborate in a more intentional way.

With everything happening in the world right now, our chats naturally went beyond yarn and stitches. And in those conversations, the idea of giving back really took root for both of us. That spark turned into a plan, and the From Us to You donation challenge was born.

We had so much fun doing it last year that we thought we would do it again this year!

You can find Sandra’s round up of the first 12 patterns featured in 2025 here.

How The From Us to You Event Works:

  • Two patterns will be released each month from July through December – one on the second Wednesday, and another on the fourth Wednesday.
  • This year has changed slightly in that there will be one hat and one scarf pattern each month.
  • Each month will feature a specific stitch or stitch combination, and there will be video tutorials to help you to work them.
  • All patterns will be newly designed either by me or Sandra – and they’ll all be free to access on our blogs forever.
  • The PDF version of each pattern will be free to download for 3 days after release.
  • The designs are great for stash-busting and will range from beginner-friendly to intermediate level.
  • We just ask one thing: If you download a free PDF, please make at least one item from the pattern to donate – either to a local charity, hospital, shelter, or organization of your choice. Where it goes is up to you.

Let’s turn yarn into warmth, love, and a little bit of hope.

So grab your hooks, dive into your stash, and let’s crochet with heart. Because when we give a little of ourselves, we give a whole lot of love.

The Patterns:

July: Slat Stitch

July featured a version of the Slat Stitch, which is a fun but fairly easy stitch combination that creates some great texture.

Sandra has a video tutorial for this stitch combination which you can find here.

July also hosts International Snake Day, so we have gone with greens and whites for our colours!

Serpent’s Whisper Infinity Scarf by SandraStitches

This infinity scarf is so practical and warm but has a lovely drape to it because of the double crochet stitches used. And it will work up quickly!

The pattern will be forever free on the blog post.

The free pdf will be available until 11:59pm EST on Friday 11th July. Click on the BLUE BOX at the bottom of Sandra’s post for the Free PDF Pattern – the usual shop buttons will not get you the free version.

Next pattern will be available on 23rd July 2025.
