TEXTURED GRANNY SQUARE – FREE CROCHET PATTERN

Originally designed as part of a Crochet Along, this is a great blanket square or washcloth pattern!

I just love how the stitch combinations in this one work so well together without competing with each other!

This square is worked in one piece from the bottom to the top.

CONSTRUCTION OF THE DESIGN:

You can really go wild with your colour choices for this one — make it in a solid colour like I have or use those scraps and really jazz it up!

For my prototype I used Paintbox Simply Aran in champagne white.  If you want to use it as a washcloth try cotton yarn.

THE YARN:

– 5mm hook – #4 weight yarn of your choosing – Scissors – Tapestry needle

MATERIALS:

Use it as a blanket square, washcloth, or keep going for a scarf! Just a couple of ideas for this one...

So many uses:

Your square will be just under 8” once completed, it will measure 8” once blocked.
