WINTERBERRY AFGHAN STRIP

Designed for the Harmony Blanket CAL I knew I wanted to use the bobble stitch. This winterberry design matches my Winterberry Hat crochet pattern.

With the CAL for the crochet blanket pattern each section was designed by a different designer. They wanted the sections to be warm and cozy but full of texture and inviting.

It was originally designed to honour my grandad who had oesophageal cancer.

INSPIRATION BEHIND THE DESIGN:

This crochet blanket strip is worked flat and in rows. The bobble stitch rows are worked on the wrong side because this makes them ‘pop out’ on the right side of the work.

CONSTRUCTION OF THE DESIGN:

- #4 worsted weight cotton yarn - 5mm hook - Stitch markers (optional) - Scissors - Tapestry needle

MATERIALS:

This free crochet pattern is more than just a blanket strip. You can: - repeat it to make a whole blanket - create a tote bag panel or throw pillow, draught excluder and so much more!

Width of this crochet blanket strip is not important and can be amended by amending the stitch multiple by 15.

SIZING:

You can really make those crocheted bobble stitches stand out by working them in different colours!
