Free Crochet Cowl Pattern

The Rebecca cowl has an understated elegance that makes this free crochet cowl pattern a great project to make and keep for yourself or gift to a loved one!

This free crochet cowl pattern is made in #3 weight (DK) yarn so is also a perfect accessory piece for early fall through to late spring. You will be surprised how warm and cozy it is.

The combination of the yarn and the stitches used to create the Rebecca cowl creates both a beautiful drape and a gorgeous texture that looks as good as it feels.

Written for ages 2–adult, this really is a pattern you will come back to time and time again. And you can make one for the whole family!

The Rebecca Cowl crochet pattern is worked in the round so it is seamless. It uses chains, single crochets, double crochets and treble crochets (in US terms) to create this gorgeous subtle texture.

CONSTRUCTION OF THE DESIGN

This is an intermediate pattern because the treble crochets are crossed. However, if you are a confident beginner who knows how to single crochet, double crochet, and treble crochet, then you can absolutely make this free crochet cowl pattern for yourself!

THE YARN

For my version above I used James C Brett Driftwood yarn in colour DW03. It comes in 100g skeins, is 100% acrylic and is anti-pilling which makes it perfect for wearables and accessories.

I also love the natural colour ways that it comes in and looks so beautiful when worked up. It is a super easy yarn to work with and I find it slides along my hook perfectly.
