The Misty Days Sweater is the second item in the Misty Days Collection to be released!

You may remember that last summer I released the Misty Days Poncho. You guys loved it! It is a gorgeous design full of subtle texture. The Wonderfluff yarn from We Crochet worked perfectly for it!

The Misty Days Sweater was a must

I knew that I needed to create a Misty Days Sweater while I was designing the poncho …. and there will also be a cardigan coming soon amongst other patterns!

What do you think of it?

That little bit of detail around the bottom of the sweater and the neckline just sets this one off for me.

As this one is an everyday top I also changed up the stitch for the main section of the body. I wanted something that was a little flatter and would not catch on everything and potentially pull the yarn.

Sizing:

Like all of my garment patterns, this one is written in 9 different sizes – from adult XS to 5X so will fit up to a 62″ bust.

The Yarn

I genuinely love the Wonderfluff Ombre yarn from WeCrochet. It is listed as a bulky weight but honestly I don’t think it is. When you project is finished ….. Oh My!! It is so fabulously soft and so light to wear!! You can see the beautiful drape it has/

With 70% baby alpaca and 7% merino wool combined with a little bit of nylon I am not so sure why I was surprised. Yet I continue to be so every time I make a project with this yarn. The long gradual colour changes make it super easy to continue the gradual flow of colour change in your work too – I just start with the outside of one skein and the centre of the next. You wouldn’t even know that there were several skeins used.

There are some stunning colours in this range too. I used Hare Heather colour way for both of these projects.

2 skeins of Wonderfluff yarn

Of course, there are a couple of points to note with the Wonderfluff yarn :

-Make sure you know exactly what you are going to make and are confident in your crocheting abilities. This yarn does not frog very far or very easily at all. Your swatch is your friend here!

– Due to the nature of the fibres, this one isn’t cheap at £14.81 per skein (about $18.99) but once you have worked with it and created your first project I am sure you will think it was worth it!

If you would like to use an alternative yarn I would suggest you use yarnsub.com to find something similar.

Skill level:

The Misty Days Sweater pattern is a good one for a confident beginner. You add the sleeves after you have made the body and crochet them onto the sweater directly. There is no shaping in the neckline so you don’t need to worry about that either. The boatneck is so forgiving to both the crocheter and the wearer.

This pattern is available in all of my stores. The three most popular are:
